Save the dates for Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest, Fridays through Sundays, September 19-21 and 26-28. Featuring live music, dance, games, German food and great Oktoberfest beers–all under a big tent over Waldmann’s beautiful and historic outdoor biergarten! Lore, Lagers and Lotsa Lederhosen!
As in past years, Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest steins are handmade and salt-glazed by Schilz in Westerwald Germany, family owned since 1661. Last year’s design is shown here, and this year’s was once again created by friend and neighbor Rob Olson and features an innovative play on our classic “W” logo–to be unveiled as soon as the ship arrives from Germany! Available with or without pewter lids, and only at our Oktoberfest.
You don’t need to renew your passport to see world-class German folk-dance: we’re honored once again to have S.G. Edelweiss perform again this year at Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest. This group recently won 1st Place in North America (Gauverband Nordamerika), and 2nd Place in the world at the prestigious Steinebach am Wörthersee competition near Munich. Come cheer them on as they share their talents both Sundays September 21st and 28th from 12:30-3pm. Sundays are also Family Days, featuring a comedy puppet show by Zpuppets and free admission for kids under 5!
Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest again features Munich’s most storied festival beers: the traditional Märzen-style Oktoberfest and the supremely quaffable Festbier, proclaimed Munich’s official Oktoberfest beer. Maturing in our tanks since this March (true to the Märzen name!) and brewed with the finest all-German malts and noble hops, Oktoberfest beer doesn’t get any better than this.
Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest features the best of Minnesota polka and a whole lot more, with two full weekends of fun festival music. This year’s performers include The Joey Johnson Band, Adam Sandhurst and the Jolly Jammers, Eric Ray & Jim Strehlke, Twin Cities Brass Band, The Squires, Century Brass, Ryan Cihlar, DD & Company, The Jolly Huntsmen, BrassZilla, Ukrainian Village Band, 2by2Bas, Slovczech and more. The music plays all day, every day, so come anytime and stay for more! Our current music schedule can be found HERE.
There’s food for everyone at Waldmann’s Oktoberfest, including our award-winning brats, smoked turkey legs, huge Milwaukee pretzels, house-made mustards, savory mushroom strudel, and mixed-fruit strudel. And it all pairs perfectly with Waldmann’s great German beers!
Think this looks easy? Try for yourselves at one of our several steinholding competitions (“Masskrugstemmen”) held each day of Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest. Our record is 5 minutes 27 seconds–but maybe YOU’LL be the one to shatter it!
Yodeling wasn’t invented by Julie Andrews–it goes back centuries among the mountain herders of southern Bavaria and Switzerland. But no matter, you can yodel your heart out at Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest!
Why is this little guy smiling? Because today and next Sunday are Family Days at Waldmann’s 8th Anniversary Oktoberfest, and kids under 5 enter for free! With both kid- and adult-friendly entertainment like the hilarious Zpuppets’ comical puppet performances, traditional dance by S.G. Edelweiss Dancers in full costume, and the Jolly Huntsmen’s chicken dance and foot-stomping polkas, our Oktoberfest is fun for the whole family!
Even if you miss our first weekend, don’t cry in your beer–Waldmann’s Oktoberfest lasts TWO weekends, featuring even more entertainment with BrassZilla, The Jolly Huntsmen, Joey Johnson, Twin Cities Brass Band, DD & Company, the award-winning S.G. Edelweiss Dancers and a hilarious return performance by Zpuppets. Lore, Lagers and Lotsa Lederhosen!
